Virus Removal for Trojan Horse

Most people with even just a cursory understanding of Greek mythology are familiar

with the story of the Trojan horse, the clever ploy devised by crafty Odysseus that

finally ended the decade long Trojan War. The story goes that the Greeks pretended to

surrender and left a peace offering of a large wooden horse, but hidden inside the

wooden walls were the strongest Greek warriors waiting to ambush the city of Troy

when the Trojans let their guard down. The horse was dragged through the city gates

and while the Trojans slept, exhausted after celebrating what they thought was the

end of the war, the Greek warriors came out of hiding and destroyed Troy once and for

all.

So what does this story have to do with Trojan Horse Virus removal? Well, the way

that a Trojan horse virus attacks your computer is similar to the way that the Greeks

ransacked Troy many, many years ago. Crafty hackers have devised a way to infiltrate

your computer without your even being aware of it. Technically, you’re aware of the

infiltration itself but you don’t realize that it’s dangerous until it’s too late.

It’s kind of like taking candy from a stranger with questionable motives. Trojan

horses usually come in the form of a harmless looking e-mail or file like music or

pictures. You download or open it, and nothing seems to be amiss.

But maybe you start to notice that your computer is moving awfully slowly. Random

pop-ups keep dominating your screen. In the worst case scenario, your passwords are

all compromised and you’ve basically lost control of your computer. These are good

signs that you might be infected with a Trojan horse, and some Trojan Horse Virus

removal might be in order.

Often people depend on antivirus software to remove Trojan horses, which can be

helpful but it’s not a surefire solution. It’s a good precaution, but Trojan viruses

are always evolving and you can never be sure, so Trojan Horse Virus removal by

antivirus software isn’t guaranteed. You should constantly update your antivirus

software in order to protect yourself as well as you can. The only way to get rid of

a Trojan horse for sure is to clean reinstall your computer. This essentially means

erasing everything on your computer, so you have to backup everything you want to

keep and then reinstall it.

A clean reinstall will ensure Trojan Horse Virus removal, but it’s tedious so the

best way to be free of Trojan viruses is to prevent infection in the first place.

Don’t download anything from a source that you don’t trust! And if you do, understand

that there are risks and prepare to deal with the consequences.
